Public Hearing

Dear Gulf Gate Residents,

There was a huge turnout for the Resilient SRQ Meeting about using HUD funds to repurpose the former 49-acre Gulf Gate Executive Golf Course, unfortunately, many of us could not see or hear.

I am excited to announce another opportunity to be speak and present evidence at the next regularly scheduled Sarasota Board of County Commissioners (BCC) meeting on February 25, 2025 at 9:00am.

Although we are not on the agenda, we are invited to speak on any topic of concern during the designated public comment period toward the beginning of the meeting.

Please arrive early to fill out a speaker card. Each speaker will be given up to three minutes to share concerns and hopes that they will develop a Gulf Gate Stormwater Facility by repurposing golf course.

We want to keep it positive and refer to it as the Gulf Gate Stormwater Facility as often as possible. We hope to see you, and please take a moment to email commissioners@scgov.net that the golf course is a rare opportunity and an exceptional solution to build resiliency to storm damage, especially flooding.
