Campaign Signs – Gulf Gate Community Association – It’s a no no!

As Election Day approaches, we’ve noticed an increase in political signs and flags in Gulf Gate yards. According to the Gulf Gate Deed Restrictions, there is a Sign Article that forbids any signs (except for one real estate sign) and the use of flags or similar advertising media.

The Board respects free speech but lacks the authority to amend the Deed Restrictions to permit these signs or flags. Consequently, we must enforce this Article. For more information on the Sign/Flag Article, please consult your Unit Deed Restrictions available on the Gulf Gate Community Association’s website at www.GGCA.us., or from the Sarasota County Property Appraiser’s office. Deed Restrictions are binding, recorded documents that accompany the property. The Gulf Gate Community Association is obligated to uphold the deed restrictions for our entire community, and association membership does not affect the enforcement of compliance.
