Hello Neighbors! Below is a free medical training this Saturday that could save a life either during a natural disaster, a fishing, hiking or camping trip. Even if you show up for the first half, you may learn one thing that would be useful in an emergency. Hope to see you there!

*There is no charge for this class; however, we’ll be ‘passing the hat’ to collect a donation for Ken Kershaw who’s our trainer and Special Forces medic and traveling from North Polk County to do this training for us.
Okay you MASH trainees, we’ve got another session of field medical training for you with Ken, our special forces combat medic.
Topics this time are environmental issues: heat and cold trauma (heat stroke, hypothermia, etc.), insect, snake, and animal bites, field sanitation, disposal of human and food waste, and much more!
We’ll also cover all phases of splinting, so bring some triangular bandages, ACE wraps, SAM splints, webbing, straps, or just torn up sheets to tie with – whatever you have around the house. Improvise and bring whatever you have to secure a splint; no need to buy anything.
Finally, Ken will give a brief review at the end on wound bandaging that was covered in the last session.
Bring a bag lunch, as we’ll have brief breaks throughout the session. No attendance limits on this event, as we have a HUGE room with both kitchen and bathroom facilities.
Come on out and learn to save a life!
