Stakes, Markings and other Mysteries

Collection Of Stakes In The Grass
Collection of Painted Stakes in the Grass

The GGCA Board has received quite a few emails asking about the stakes and spray-painted markings on Markridge, Gulf Gate Drive and other streets as well as about the FPL request to authorize a modification to the electric meters of some of our residents.

Turns out, those things are related.

FPL is planning a project to move a number of our neighborhood’s power lines underground.  If you’ve received a request to authorize a modification to your meter, then your lines will be moved.

The County has advised us that the stakes and markings are the work of the other utilities that are on the FPL poles.  They, too, will be relocating their lines underground in the right-of-way strip between the street and sidewalk.

Want to know more?  Colton Curtis of FPL will be our featured speaker at the upcoming September 16th Gulf Gate General Meeting.

Join us at 7:00 pm at the Faith Lutheran Church at 7750 S. Beneva to learn more about these projects and be updated on the former Golf Course property and other issues important to our neighborhood.
